Copper coil buying guide
Refrigeration-grade (ACR) copper is cleaned, dehydrated and capped so that no moisture or debris enters the refrigerant circuit. Plumbing copper is not a substitute. For split AC installation you need two coils per unit — a liquid line and a larger suction line — sized to the unit's connections.

Confirm against the nameplate; use the copper pipe size helper to calculate coil quantities for your run length. Each coil is 15.24 m (50 ft).
Wall thickness and R410A
R410A systems run at higher pressure than R22. Use the wall thickness the manufacturer specifies (typically 0.8 mm up to 1/2", 0.8–1.0 mm above) and an R410A-rated flaring tool. The Maksal Economical range is suited to standard residential installations; ask us before using it on long commercial runs.
Maksal or Mueller?
Both are ACR-grade. Maksal Economical is stocked in the full size range and priced per coil from AED 157; Mueller is a US manufacturer brand often named in specifications. See Mueller vs Maksal.
Installation tips for the UAE
- Keep coils capped until the moment of use; moisture in POE oil causes acid.
- Purge with nitrogen while brazing to prevent oxide scale.
- Bend with a bender — kinks restrict flow and trap oil.
- Insulate both lines with closed-cell insulation; at 45 °C ambient an uninsulated liquid line loses capacity and a bare suction line sweats.
